Cure environmental card (Eindhoven)
An environmental card is a residential card for waste related business. The card grants access tp the two Eindhoven waste recycling points and can be used for opening (underground) waste containers. If you are paying waste tax, you have a right to one environmental card.
From January 1st 2022, there's an entrance fee for the Eindhoven waste recycling points. This means that after a certain amount of visits, a visit to a recycling point will cost money. To properly register the amount of visits, Cure has introduced the new environmental card.
As opposed to the old city card, the environmental card is not personal but residential. This means there's no personal information on the card and your privacy is protected.
The environmental card works basically the same as the old city card, but the environmental card is residential instead of personal. You can use it to access underground residual waste container and you should bring it to visit a waste recycling point. Your visits to the recycling points are registered on the environmental card.
Every household in Eindhoven will receive one environmental card in September and October of 2021. From November onward you can use the card for visiting the waste recycling points and opening the underground containers. From January 1st 2022 the fees for waste recycling points will be valid, which means you will only be able to enter a waste recycling point using your environmental card.

The new environmental card grants access to the two waste recycling points in Eindhoven and to the underground containers for residual waste. You used to use the city card for this. In November and December of 2021, both passes were valid. But from January 1st 2022 onward it has only been possible to access a waste recycling point with an environmental card. From January 1st onward there is also a fee for bringing waste to the waste recycling points in Eindhoven.
From January 1st 2022, your environmental card grants 12 free visits to waste recycling points. You're allowed to present 2m3 of waste per visit. If you're presenting more than 2m3 of waste, this will count as an extra visit. From the 13th visit onward you'll pay a set fee of €20,- per visit. These visits are also registered on your environmental card. In total, you're allowed to dispose of 24m3 of waste for free each year. This is plenty for most residents.
