From now on, you will use the Cure environmental card to take care of everything involving waste
Together we keep Eindhoven clean!
In the autumn of 2021 we introduced the new Cure environmental card in Eindhoven.
With this new environmental card, you and your possible housemates can take care of all your waste matters. The card gives access to the two waste recycling points in the city. You can also use the card to open the underground containers for residual waste. From 1 January 2022, you can only use your new environmental card to visit the waste recycling points. The old city pass will no longer be valid then.
The Cure environmental card in short:
- Provides access to the 2 recycling points in Eindhoven.
- Take your waste to the recycling point up to 12 times a year for free (with a max. of 2 m3 per visit).
- Opens the underground containers for household waste in your area.
- Provides the option to have your waste collected at home.
- Protects your privacy since the pass is registered at the address.
Every house its own pass
The Cure environmental card is linked to your address. You will receive one environmental card per house. This is meant for shared use within your household. If you move, you must leave the card in the house for the new resident(s). Because the card is registered using your address and not using your name, your privacy is protected.
Every household that pays waste charges are entitled to an environmental card. If someone does not pay waste charges and therefore does not have an environmental card, no waste can be taken to the waste recycling point.
Rates for frequent visit to the recycling point
As in many other municipalities, from 1 January 2022 onwards, a rate for frequently visiting the waste recycling point will also apply in Eindhoven. You can take your waste to the recycling point 12 times a year for free with your environmental card. From the 13th visit onward you pay a fixed entrance fee of €20 per visit. You are allowed to present a maximum of 2 m3 of waste per visit. The environmental card of your home registers the visits you make to the waste recycling point.
Do you not have transport to go to the recycling point? Cure also offers a collection service for a fee, where we collect bulky waste from your home.

Why an entrance fee for the waste recycling point?
Cure Afvalbeheer and the municipality of Eindhoven strive for a clean city. We dot that together with you as a resident. Cure and the municipality are increasingly working from the idea that the polluter pays. This means that those who produce a lot of waste and pollution, also pay the bill for it. In this way, everyone becomes aware of the costs associated with waste and pollution.
Do you use the underground containers for your residual waste?
You can open the containers with the new environmental card.
If the (underground) container is full or not working, you can report this to the Cure customer service or via the Buitenbeter app. Do not place waste next to the container. This is prohibited and causes nuisance. We will charge you the costs for cleaning up your additional waste.
What to do in case of loss or damage
Lost or damaged your card? Request a new card via the web form* on the website or via our customer service. The costs of a new card are €15,-.
If your card is defective, but not visibly damaged, the costs for your new card will be payed by Cure.
Your old city pass
From 1 January 2022, you can only use your new environmental card to visit the waste recycling point. The old city pass will also expire on 1 January 2022 for parking and sports subscriptions.
The future of waste
The introduction of the Cure environmental card is part of a bigger waste management plan of the municipality of Eindhoven. This plan should ensure that residents of Eindhoven separate their waste better. Because by separating waste properly, there will be less residual waste that has to go into the incinerator. And that saves new raw materials, energy and money!
Blue containers for paper and cardboard waste
The municipality of Eindhoven and Cure Afvalbeheer are currently working on a pilot for the introduction of blue containers for paper and cardboard waste in Eindhoven. A benefite of the blue containers is that you no longer have to save your old paper and cardboard waste in your home. Besides, if you put your paper and cardboard waste in the bin, it does not blow away and does not get wet. The containers will probably be available in 2022 for all residents of low-rise addresses.
Expansion of underground containers for PBD
Since the autumn of 2020, Plastic packaging, Blik (tin cans) and Drink cartons (PBD) are collected together in Eindhoven. This means that in addition to plastic, cans and drinking cartons are also allowed in the plastic/PBD containers.
The number of underground containers for PBD waste will be expanded in 2022. This means that soon you will be able to dispose your PBD waste in more places.
